When will Beth Phoenix learn that Santino Marella is just a distraction rather than an ally? Well perhaps after her match last Monday, she may be thinking otherwise. Apparently, she suffered yet another setback when Kelly Kelly defeated her due to a miscalculated distract. Add to the fact that Marella’s continued bad-mouthing of Batista is not helping, the animal made matters worst when he speared her love interest and spared Kelly Kelly from any harm.

So where was the Glamazon? Well she did make a wise decision, not wanting any part of Batista’s rage. Who would? Considering that Batista has been known to put people out of commission, the animal’s control should not be abused.

Where was Candice Michelle when all of this transpired? We all know that Candice is trying to preserve herself for the next pay-per-view and while many are questioning her ability to wrest the title, staying away from the matches when she is not scheduled to appear was more of a wise move on her part. It would be foolish to risk injury at this point and once again lose that opportunity to compete for the title.

As for Phoenix, she cannot take Candice for granted. She is hot on her trail and silence may push her to become overconfident on the supposed brittle state of the former women’s champion. Knowing Candice, she has waited long and hard for this match and don’t be surprised for fireworks to start once they do meet.
