Why is it that this match didn’t really turn out to be as exciting as most people would have guessed? Well for one, if you have a large glamazon as one of the protagonists in a women’s division match, you are bound to know who has the obvious edge. And Beth Phoenix apparently did not let anyone down.

In a scheduled pay-per-view match, Phoenix as expected made Melina Perez quit. In a first in this division, the “I Quit” match is something you don’t see any diva would participate in. But with emotions high and a lot of pride as well as the opportunity to try and get a second crack at the gold, you can just imagine how things turned out at One Night Stand.

Obviously Melina did not just hand it to Phoenix on a silver platter. She showed a lot of guts and could have even pulled it off. But unfortunately, the power of Phoenix was just too much to overcome and like a wounded animal, she desperately wants to get her belt back.

With this win, you may be wondering if this is the end of their storied rivalry. Melina is a pesky customer and apparently she will not just give up even if she did quit. With that in mind, it seems that this story is still far from over. Melina will be back and Phoenix is wise to consider that. The women’s title is still with Mickie James and apparently it will stay with hers for now.
