For any paradise and goody two shoe, there will always be one figure that many would call a heel. In this case, Beth Phoenix, the current champion has earned the right to that honor and as far as determining if she likes it or not is really academic at this point. She has surely made her way to the top through dirty tactics and no one among the other divas today are able to provide a suitable challenge to this glamazon.

After winning the title from Candice Michelle, their storied rivalry has temporarily taken a back seat. For sure, 2008 will open with a lot of fireworks and the Michelle-Phoenix rivalry is estimated to reach new heights. Phoenix may hold on to the title on the first try but it will surely change hands somewhere in the year. It should not be surprising considering the fact that the changing of hands of the title is usually between the face and heel wrestlers to stir up attention on the creative storylines that the WWE has made all throughout.

So how does Phoenix feel about the Heel of the year award? For sure, it can be helpful as far as building her image. Although negative in a way, it remains that she is still playing second-fiddle to Candice Michelle. Being the champion is her only advantage and she better hope she does not lose the grip. If she does, then she may have to work again to regain the gold which is sure to happen for 2008.
