Sorry to say this folks, but you will have to settle for a former women’s champion to challenge the woman mountain glamazon Beth Phoenix for the gold at Armageddon. Basing it on the ratings, this match is considered a low profile match. Divas are simply not performing up to standards as far as competition and storyline is concerned. It does not have the flare of a Candice Michelle title match which may not be of much interest to most fans today.

Mickie James earned the right to face Beth Phoenix by virtue of winning a number one contenders match she won over another former champion, Melina Perez. But regardless of whom between them Phoenix would face, it remains a fact that many are not that much excited to see the show.

Many claim it is just a buying time tactic to wait for the actual return of Candice Michelle who seems to be not ready or avoiding risking her overall health. Well who can blame her. Her horrendous fall is something that most people consider as career-ending and if she is not careful, she may soon bid wrestling adieu.

But this is not to take away the stature of Phoenix and James. They will compete although this early, many are expecting Phoenix to come out as usual. She is too powerful to be beaten at this point and perhaps only her cockiness will be the ultimate result of her downfall soon. That is if anyone can spot it and take advantage.
