Kristal Marshall Released by WWE

: October 22nd, 2007

After a much celebrated and controversial wedding, Kristal Marshall has been released from the WWE. This move may be controversial to the fact that her storyline with SMACKDOWN GM is still unresolved and apparently WWE producers will scratch it paving the way to her release.

Kristal has apparently exhausted her place in the SMACKDOWN roster. She has not really been a figure in the circle of competition in the WWE. In fact, I cannot even remember a time where she really wrestled and was relegated more of being a sidelight rather than an attraction.

Her release follows the release of Sharmell Sullivan as well last week. Sharmell along with her husband Booker T were released after a settlement was reached.

Kristal’s release is not really surprising. After the supposed marriage and exchange of vows fell, she was no where in sight on the matter. In fact, no teasers were even seen after Teddy Long supposedly had a heart attack on that edition of SMACKDOWN. Perhaps Kristal knew it was forthcoming and thus was only made official some days ago.

Kristal joined the WWE in 2005 when she joined the diva search on that year. She was a former “Price is Right” model before that. In the 2 years with the WWE, she has not made any impact at all. While many believed the scripted marriage was to help boost her ratings, apparently WWE saw it the other way around. On whether she sill crop up again on the WWE or other wrestling shows remains to be seen.
