Michelle McCool eyeing Gold?
: July 11th, 2007
Prior to the 2007 draft, Michelle McCool had been sending signals of a potential push when she started feuding with Ashley Massaro and Jillian Hall. While nothing concrete came about it, McCool openly expressed herself in wanting to be among the line-up challengers for Candice Michelle’s title belt. Only one problem, Candice is in RAW and she is on SMACKDOWN.
Now that is a problem. Unless of course she would be transferred to RAW, she cannot make her intent a reality. Actually, it will all remain a fantasy unless Candice transfers to SMACKDOWN. This is one reason why people are asking, why not have a women’s champion on SMACKDOWN? The WWE has two World Heavyweight Champions so why not two Women’s Champions? This way, there will be less concern for a need to transfer from one WWE brand show to another right?
But to date, this seems highly improbable. It is obvious that to date, RAW has been the superior brand and hence making it home for most of the major titles up for grabs. The divas have yet to prove that they are indeed of wrestling caliber and perhaps this is one reason why there is only one women’s belt.
Divas are often shown to be more on managers and do not portray the usual wrestling tactics that can catapult them towards increasing the number of diva wrestlers that can indeed pay justification on having one title belt for each brand. For Michelle McCool, you have two choices: go to RAW or wait for the next draft or trade that can bring her nearer to the women’s champion.
