Beth Phoenix? Many people are perhaps wondering who this WWE diva is. Well, taking into consideration the push that stars such as Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson and Melina have gotten over the past months, it is obvious that WWE wants to inject someone new from their payroll to make the WWE a bit more exciting this time around.

Phoenix debuted in May of 2006 when she acted as a body guard to former WWE diva Trish Stratus. Phoenix assaulted Mickie James and eventually blamed her for ruining her life. After this storyline, Phoenix disappeared from the limelight as quickly as she came due to an injury she sustained in a match against Victoria. But basing it on the strength and power the she has, Candice Michelle may have some sleepless nights prior to the Great American Bash as she will battle someone as powerful as Phoenix.

Phoenix was chosen by Melina to take her place in the rematch clause that she had prior to losing at Vengeance. Melina claims to have an injury thus making her incapacitated to participate in the rematch and thus choosing her close friend Beth Phoenix to battle Candice on her behalf.

Surely this is a strategy on the part of Melina to wear out Candice if not dethrone her. Candice obviously has Melina’s number and with a change of opponent, it may possibly throw Candice off-guard. But if Candice’ past performances are any indication; it will not really matter since she is in top shape. Expect one hell of a match at the Great American Bash!
