Chyna’s movie goes straight to video

The death of Anna Nicole Smith and the controversy surrounding her life and death has shown no signs of abating. Left and right new revelations are being broadcast by many media outlets. Then there are the sordid details of the legal battles being fought in the aftermath of her passing away. Even now that she has finally been laid to rest, there are so many things that still hound her and will continue to keep her in the public eye.For example, her last movie, Illegal Aliens, which she starred opposite with former WWE Diva Chyna (Joanie Laurer) is still not being shown. The movie, a comedy that was produced by Anna Nicole’s late son Daniel, was supposed to have been shown last year but was postponed with Daniel’s death last September. The movie was then scheduled to have been released the first quarter of 2007 but then Anna Nicole passed away so it was shelved once again. Now the production company who owns the movie (by the way, this movie was also bankrolled by Anna Nicole as a way of showcasing her comedic talent) has decided that it will just release Illegal Aliens straight to video. There was no official reason given for the sudden decision to not release it in theaters but I would guess it would be to immediately recoup their investment without the risk of the movie bombing.
Joanie Laurer, like Anna Nicole, has a lot riding on the movie too. She has been through so much the last few years that she also considers the movie as her own comeback. It’s sad that this comeback looks like it’s going to be stalled.

Here’s an idea: If you enjoy the work of an entertainer/performer then by all means do so. Just leave your opinions and attitude about their personal lives, to yourselves.
