Foxy Sable
: October 31st, 2006![]()
Former WWE wrestler Sable (Rena Mero in real life) is one of the pioneering Divas in the WWE. She was actually one of the first ever women wrestlers in the promotion to be branded the Diva status so she really has opened a big door for all of the women wrestlers that came after her.Sable has one of those classic bios that is typical of a lady wrestler. She has paid her dues and have gone through a lot both personally and professionally. This was something I had never known before and knowing this now I …
Terri Runnels: She Devil
: October 29th, 2006![]()
One of the most memorable WWE Divas to ever grace the ring was Terri Runnels. The stunning blonde was one of the few women wrestlers / managers that have been able to successfully capture the imagination of the fans not only with their physical assets but with how well they have been able to hone their talents at the mic and in the ring.Terri lorded it in the ring for an amazing eight years. And all through those years she was involved in some major storylines. She was able to feud with some of the up …
The sweet Amy Weber
: October 26th, 2006![]()
One of the most memorable contestants during the first Diva Search contest of the WWE was Amy Weber. Now, Amy is a very feminine woman but her really great personality really shone during the contest. She also showed a lot of determination when during the arm wrestling challenge she actually injured her arm but gamely finished the whole thing even though she was in a lot of pain. This kind of tenacity and gamesmanship caught the attention of the WWE management and, deciding that her great mix of beauty, personality and determination, she was offered to …
Christy Hemme: Bubbly beauty
: October 24th, 2006![]()
One of the most electrifying female wrestling personalities that graced the WWE was the first ever WWE Diva Search winner Christy Hemme. When I first heard of the contest, I was initially skeptical about it. I felt that it was exploitative, lame and takes away a lot of the momentum of a regular wrestling show. I still feel the same way about the contests up to now but the first ever search really hooked me. First of all, the contestants were so gorgeous. Secondly, their individual personalities were actually quite entertaining, and third, Christy Hemme was there.
To …
Daddy’s girl: Stephanie McMahon
: October 22nd, 2006![]()
It is an open secret that the daughter of WWE Chairman, Stephanie McMahon is married to WWE superstar Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque in real life). Stephanie, who is currently the Senior Vice President for Creative Writing, has more to offer to the company than just being a wife though.Stephanie has helped usher in a more exciting Raw and Smackdown show because of the increased level of quality of the writing being done for both brands. Yes, there may be some stumbles here and there (who can forget the Katie Vick angle that, frankly, disgusted a …
The Bad Girl
: October 19th, 2006![]()
The WWE Diva Search has made a very big impact on both the Raw and Smackdown brands. There is no denying the fact that the contest has become a goldmine for the WWE to get the freshest, sexiest and most personable ladies to join the company. The gambit has been paying off as practically every single Diva search alumni that was hired by the WWE has become quite well known and definite crowd drawers for any of the brands.Of course, there are some that did not really stay long in the company like Amy Webber and …
Ashley’s love affair with music
: October 17th, 2006![]()
If there is one blog that a wrestler writes which I admit to reading obsessively it would have to be Ashley Massaro’s Bangin’ with Ashley blog. I am a huge music fan (as my thousands of CDs and millions of MP3s can attest) and I try to nurture that obsession as much as I can. The sad thing about this obsession with music though is that I know so few people who are into it in such a big way as I do. So when I discovered Ashley’s blog, which dealt mainly with music, I was …
The Rise of Mickie and Melina
: October 15th, 2006![]()
The Women’s Division tournament is at the middle of its run in RAW and some early favorites are already emerging.Of course, there is Mickie James and Lita who can be considered as the frontrunners in the tournament being that they really are good wrestlers and have amazing personalities. I am particularly in awe of Mickie James (the erstwhile Alexis Laree in TNA). In just a year she has managed to climb up to the top of the heap and best most of the other WWE Divas. She got her first taste of the title a few …
From wrestlers to divas?
: October 12th, 2006
During the same Byte This interview WWE Chairman Vincent McMahon granted a few days ago (and which I mentioned in my previous blog post), the main man of the WWE also made a very revealing comment about the state of the WWE Divas, the women’s division and the direction that the company is taking with regards to female wrestlers.According to McMahon, there has been a general opinion that the WWE Divas went from being beautiful women who can wrestle to divas who just “know how to strip.†Even though McMahon admits that it is a harsh judgement …
Vince McMahon’s thoughts on the Divas
: October 10th, 2006
A couple of weeks ago WWE chairman Vince McMahon was the guest in wwe.com’s Byte This segment. The interview was quite a revealing and insightful one as the chairman himself talked about the many things that are happening at the WWE, the wrestlers who are figuring prominently right now (John Cena, DX, Hulk Hogan), and even those that have left the fold (Kurt Angle). McMahon was very candid about the interview and what was quite interesting was his comments about the WWE Divas themselves.
First of all, McMahon acknowledged that the WWEDivas.com website is the most visited …
